Dabulamanzi Canoe Club have attempted a new world record for a Surf Ski race at altitude after a call to the GP province to rally their top downwind specialist for the record attempt.

The who’s who of Gauteng’s ski paddlers were all on the start line in what can only be described as “testing conditions”.

After the first downwind lap the paddlers had to do their utmost to avoid the ever strengthening whirl pool.

Those unfortunate ski’s that found themselves on the inside had their work cut out to stay out of its clutches.

Organiser, and PE2EL legend, known only as "Scatter", said “We feel confident that this record attempt will be ratified and awarded soonest”.
