 It's all systems go for the 2011 Windhoek Berg River Canoe marathon from 13 to 16 July. This year's Windhoek Berg River Canoe Marathon marks one of the biggest milestones in the history of South African canoeing, as the race celebrates it's fiftieth anniversary!
Paddlers from around the world are training hard to be part of this landmark occasion, which promises to be really special as the organisers go the extra mile to make it memorable for athletes, seconds and spectators.
PRIZEMONEY
There has been an increase in prizemoney this year, with handsome rewards for the top paddlers in each category. The full prize matrix can be seen here. TEAM COMPETITION
The biggest increase however is in the prizemoney for the team competition, where the winning team will take home R60 000! That is sure to add a new dimension to the race, and we expect plenty of top paddlers to enter teams to stand a chance of winning the excellent cash prizes for the first three teams. See more here. This year's race will finish at Port Owen, around the corner from Velddrif, where the festivities at the end of the race will find a warm and comfortable home in the coastal village. ENTRY FORMS
