Leave Cape Town in plenty of time; at least 2.30 hours before the cut off time (9.30am). It is a long walk down to the start.

Take the N2 to Swellendam. Just before the town and before you cross the river, turn right. Sign Malgas Napkysmond.

Or

Take the N1 to Worcester – Robertson – Ashton- just after turn off to Swellendam T junction at N2 turn right, cross Breede River. Up the hill at sign post Malgas / Napkysmond turn left. This is a gravel road. First turn off is quite soon left sign Napkysmond Round-the Bend or a scarecrow. Second turn off little further than the first. Watch for Round-the-Bend sign on the left after a rise third turn is a fork in the road to the right once again Round-the-Bend sign. After quite a few kms and you have seen the river on the right, there will be a road going to the Right to Round-the-Bend camp. DO NOT TAKE THIS ROAD. Carry just a little further on and on the Left, there is a farm gate. This is where everyone will gather.

It is a long walk down to the start and you can only enter the water one at a time. So make sure you have everything and get down there quickly. Across from the launching spot, there is a beach with bushes for the necessary.

Seconds, there is not really anywhere to watch. There are some farms but you have to have permission and you may definitely NOT go to Round the Bend or Up the Creek. Retrace your steps back the way you came to turn off No 2 when you went to the start and turn left. Now it is far. There are quite a few Napkysmond farms and quite a few farmers with the name Kemp but you are looking for the farmer P.P.Kemp, Napkysmond. The turn off is at the top of a hill and slides off to the left, almost before you see the sign. If you miss it, you will not be the first or last. Turn along the farm road and as you near the house; there is a shed on the right. The road goes past the front of the shed
