Take the N1 to Wellington. Take any of the Wellington off ramps. In Wellington take the R301 (Church Street) to Bains Kloof. Keep on this road all the way over the Bains Kloof Pass and after you have gone down the other side, you will get to a small one-way bridge over the river. This is the start.

After the start carry on in the direction you were travelling in after the pass and take the first turning to the right, Worcester. Head along this road until the turn off to Slangkop – turn right. The road is gravel and takes you to the low level bridge that the paddlers have to cross.

When they have past go back to the Worcester Road and turn right. Eventually you will come to a sign to turn right to Wysersdrift. Turn here and just carry along the road until you see the bride over the river. You can either sit in your car on top of the bridge and watch the paddlers’ finish or park on the piece of ground just before the bridge on the right and then walk and watch from the bridge. The paddlers come back to the piece of ground to change and prize giving etc.
